Sometimes I remember to encourage my kids. But it doesn’t come naturally; I’m critical my nature. I’m mostly critical of myself. Anyway, yesterday I had this thought. Send an encouraging text to the three of them.
I’ve done this kind of thing before. But it’s been a while. Here it is.
That’s really it. One responds in, um, his own way. One responds in hers. One doesn’t respond at all.
I didn’t ask Elliot the meaning of his metaphor. Perhaps it means, “Dad, you provide so well for us! So well! There’s always so much food on the table. Thank you!”
Not so sure.
I sometimes wonder if these kinds of encouragements even make a difference. But deep down, regardless of the response, I believe they do.
